Hi all,

I've recently started growing what will be 4 japanese maple bonsais, at the moment they are about 1-2 months old and are still very much growing, the seeds were in the fridge and then sprouted so i put them into small seed raising trays however i feel as if it is time to move them out? I was looking for advice as to what to do in order to ensure they grow correctly as I have not found much information online about what to do in these stages.

You have not been growing Maple bonsai, they are Maples. They will not be bonsai for many years. I don't understand where you have them, if they are in a house then they should be outside with some protection from wind with some shade. One big enough to handle they can be potted on to a larger pot. Next season they can be planted in the ground and left for several years to grow.

If it is not winter where you are (frost), place the pots outside in a place with moderate sun. Keep the soil moist, but avouid soaking wet conditions.

Great yeah they are currently outside in about half sun, was a little worried about one as one of the tips of the leaves went quite brown despite a lot of watering, I thought it would be due to the heat? As I live in Australia the temperature in the sun can be quite warm even in winter

Just adding to what i said earlier, it looks like all 4 seedlings are starting to turn brown at the tips I'm starting to belive its a drainage problem as they are in seed raising mix, would I be correct in saying this?

Hope these are good ive noticed it on 3 but specifically on one of my biggest, did some research and thought it could be scorch? as they get a good amount of morning sun.

I wouldn't be worried.
All new leaves on my young maples are exactly like that when young, this picture below I've just shot to show the color:

The reddish brown is normal yeah but the tips seem to be very brown, dry and crispy. Think you might be right though shouldn’t be too worried about it.
