Hey, I was recently gifted this bonsai which I am hoping someone can help identify? It was in a poor state we we received it so I am hoping to revive it (If its not to late) The soil is quite moist so I think it has been over watered (yet the bonsai leaves and branches are v dry, kept indoors at room temp. Gets sunlight and an occasional breeze. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

So. I cant be certain, but that tree looks dead.

From the top-down view of that broken brach (and it may be just that one branch) it's very much dead. Furthermore, if the water is overly moist and it doesnt seem to be drying out as fast as it should, that probably means the tree is dead and not drinking the water.

Also, no matter how much sunlight you give it, 95% of all bonsai trees need to be outside.

I think it is an Olive tree, but i am not 100% sure.

If you are not 100% sure, and you have little experience maybe it is better to not answer?

It is a podocarpus. I am not happy about the state it is in. I am in doubt you can revive this. But outside till frost and keep moist, never wet.
