Well i plan to take 3 young junipers all about 5 or 6 inches tall , and take all 3 of them and put them in a container big enough for the 3 junipers that are still in their pot, bury the container. Then cover them with mulch up to their first branch. Does that sound ok. Or is there something i missed.

Zone 5 has winters that hits up to -28c
My winters are much warmer than that. So no recommendations. My winters ever few year my reach -20 in cold nights. I keep all my junipers unprotected except for wind shelter and sun on longer term frost.
