Hi!!

So, about a month ago I noticed a white fur like mould growing on top of the soil of my Chinese elm. I read up on it, some said brush it off and see if it comes back. I tried this and it did. Leaves have also started turning yellow and brown and falling off. I’ve read it could be due to overwatering.

Can someone tell me if this is due to overwatering? How can I solve this problem as I’m worried it’s fungal? I don’t want to treat something that is just due to me overwatering :) thanks

If it is in full sun then it should be ok, sounds like it might be too much water but it has only been wet in the last few days. Wait until the soil is almost dry before watering again, the mould will disappear once the soil is in better condition.

Is your tree inside or outside ( where it should be)? Also, there are no pics .
