Orange fungus? So gross was created by Strangella

Hello, I'm new here. I bought this Japanese Juniper (or at least that's what the lady told me it was) last spring. It survived this winter well, but now it has these gross orange things on it. They look like bright orange rice crispy's. I don't know what they are or how to treat this. Any advice would be more than welcome. I took some pics to give you guys a better look at it. Thank you!

I am afraid this is pear / juniper rust. It is an incurable disease. THe juniper itself will live through this. Bit is also infects all plants in the roses family, including which pears, apples, etc.

Recommended course of action is to destroy this plant nad have it burnt, I am afraid. :(
