Hi my jacaranda is 9 months old. Its starting to droop and worried its going to die. Im planning on repotting in bonsai mixed soil. Im using the soil that was giving in my bonsai kit from amazong. Packed disc. Im thinking the bonsai is starving or cant spread it roots since the soil gets packed hard when dry. Any advice?

Hi. I don't know the wheater in your country, but it's look starving. This soil is coconut fiber? I think if you repot , it will look better

Yup, get it out of that soil into a good quality potting soil and a regular pot. Be gentle on the roots.

I went out and bought a mixed bonsai from an bonsai place thats legit. I mixed some in at the top to try and promote healthy again before repotting. But decided to tonight after reading
The roots dont look happy. And very clumping dirt around them. I hope it comes to life. Im also using full spectrum light for when it gets dark for an extra 2 hours to promote growth

Thanks guys. But im feeling like its a goner. I didnt know the soil that came in the boxset has no nutrients. Lesson learnt. Im using the bonsai store soil. They use on their bonsais. I also mixed 25 percent of potting soil to it for the baby roots.

There are really no need to use bonsai soil for seedlings. A good quality potting soil work just fine. However, the soil in that pot looks more like potting soil than bonsai soil to me. Just leave it as it is and hope.

No need for bonsai soil, absolutely not. It will not be a bonsai for at least 10-15 years, so no need to put it in bonsai soil or a bonsai pot. The only thing it needs is sunshine ( outside ),water and some fertilliser now and then.

I bought bonsai food fertilizer and also plant fertilizer for my dragon plant. But i was told not to do that until spring. Should i now? Yes i mixed the bonsai soil with a good amount of potting soil to help. I have it near the window getting full light.
