I bought my bonsai last January as a present for my husband. Up until November the plant was okay. Some leaves had died earlier on however it was very leafy and flowery during the summer. I believe that it is a Elm tree which means that during winter and autumn the leaves fall off but im really worried as it seems like there's no leaves left. ALSO my husband prefers not to trim his plant as he wants it to be big and all over and branchy however even these bits are starting to die . We've watered it given the bonsai its feeds yet its still dying. Im very worried. Could someone please help me identify what the issue may be?

Thank you

Do you keep it inside living room conditions?

Does not look like elm to mee. But hard to tell from that pictures.

lack of light and too wet roots. Put it in the brightest place you have.
Do not put it straigh on top of a radiator.

Oh okay, to be fair I assumed it’s an elm I’m not 100% sure about it though.

And yes, it stays in the living room on the windowsill however we do get draft coming in, could that be why?
And does it look like it’s dying? There’s new leaves growing but far more falling
