White mold and other problems

I bought a bonsai about 3 week ago, what I believe to be a Chinese sweet plum (not sure). It’s doing well I think as it has sprouted new shoots, however after 2 weeks of having it, a flaky white mold appeared, only in small spots. Upon sight I have removed this ‘mold’.
I need help identifying what it is and if it is dangerous. I read that a fuzzy white mold is caused because of overwatering but the tree has shown no signs of being overhydrated (yellowing leaves) and the mold is more flaky than fuzzy. I have attached pictures below (mold removed)
Also bought with a split down the middle of the trunk, this seems to cause no issues but just wondering if it joins back together.

Hello!
Strangely enough I think I may have the same issue, again with a chinese sweet plum, which does look the same as mine!
I've got new shoots and what I can only think is white flaky mould.
In your images it's hard to discern because you have removed the mould, i've attached some of my own to see if you are facing a similar problem?
Hopefully we can figure this out together benoakes!

If you see the mold again, make a picture of it. Hard to tell what it is without a picture.
The white on soil what you see now are salt deposits from water/firtilizer. Usually cause by not flushing the soil with enough water so old salts can wash out, and new firtilizer will be in there.
The white salts on the leaves are from hard water. calcium etc. Next time watering, give the foillage a good shower with tepid water. (not cold) That whould clean the leaves and flush out the soil. After the flushing give it directly new water with some firtilizer in it.
