Finding out what tree you have is not that difficult to he honest, check the tree species tab in this forum.
To save you the task, it’s a ficus ginseng; the branches of one type of ficus grafted on the roots of another type. Not considered as a bonsai , so just treat it as any other houseplant and it will do fine. But that’s no reason why you would not enjoy your gift.
