Hi Teepee,
Welcome here.
As you have seen, there is a lot of discussion. I once wrote a somewhat long background info article on these types of discussion. Maybe it helps you: www.growingbonsai.net/why-is-my-tree-not-a-bonsai/
I am utterly confused why people this this is a ginseng fig, which it clearly is not. Treat this as you would treat any ficus: THey love sun and warmth. And if it is warm, they love water.
If possible, let it spend the summer outside. It makes a huge difference in health.

The "people" that thinks this is a ginseng ficus works at Ikea. Most of them know nothing about plants:

You would however expect people on bonsai fora to know better than to just copy labels from a website.

Maybe we should not put that expectations on beginners and first posters?

Well, as I said, I see potential on it, it have a decent thickness on the trunk already...
I would be planning to lower it, and make several cutting out of the top after it grows a full crown.
Something like that... Your tree, my opinion...
By the way. Nice work you did on that one leatherback, can you update it? xD
(Nevermind, I just saw you sold it)
