Hi all.

I'm new here and i live in Vietnam. In March 2021 i decided to buy a bonsai tree from the local shop but the seller is not that professional comparing to the ones i have seen on Youtube and he doesn't have much knowledge i guess.
So all i know (from him) is the vietnamese name of this tree.

Could someone help me identify this tree, which spec it is and how to take good care of it ? I did not learn much from the local seller though and that is why i have spent most of my time (since March) watching youtube and hopefully can learn more about it.

Thank you in advance.

Popular ones are the Ginseng, Retusa and Microcarpa. They like high humidity and moist soil. I place mine outside as soon as the temperature is above 15C. I also built once a tiny greenshouse to encourage aerial rooting with temperature inside at around 30C and 100% humidity. Daily ventilating to avoid mold. I also mist the leaves in the early morning. If the tree is healthy you can cut most of the leaves for a better ramification and smaller leaves.

OP is in Vietnam. No need to take inside ever. No need for tiny greenhouse. No need to worry about ventilation and for sure no need to mist it.

i usually keep it indoor (Next to my computer set-up) but i do take it out side in the morning for the sunlight. I do water it early morning too. I have been ventilizing it maybe once/month according to what the seller told me :D

On the first day i bought it, i spent some money on a new Pot and in the first 2-3 weeks its leaves kept falling. However the seller said it's okay no need to worry because we changed it to a new pot and it needs time to get used to.
Yes the tree is kinda healthy right now and leaves are growing fast. The leaves don't fall anymore. So you suggest me to cut the leaves for a better ramification? Does that really help the tree grow bigger & have more leaves in the future?

Cutting leafs will not make it bigger in the furure, leaving it to grow wild will.
