Hi everyone,

Does anyone have any tips or advice on how to make sure my fukien tea tree makes it? A week ago the leaves started to wilt a little and they don’t seem to be bouncing back (I gave it some liquid fertilizer & usual watering).

Any thoughts or advice welcome!

It appears to be indoors.

Trees and plants in general need the environment they evolved in, or something very close. Humans developed the ability to migrate from place to place but plants are rooted where they evolved and need sunlight - lots of it. They learned long ago to take energy from sunlight and use it. Without sunlight they get weaker and weaker, and eventually die from starvation.

Similar statements can be made about air motion, humidity, temperature variations, and more.

It really needs to be outdoors in sunlight all day.

To be honest there are noone in this forum that have ever grown a long term healthy fukien. It is one of them mystery trees that just die nomatter what we try.

I think the key is hot and humid all year round. An environment that few of us can provide.

Just look for another species hardy to your area and grow it outdoors.
