Got a bonsai tree for Christmas, I’ve been wanting to get into the hobby for a while but I don’t know what kind of tree this is. Also I’m aware it’s leaves don’t look too healthy but I just got it. Keeping it in my room right now but I might move it downstairs if it needs a more stable climate because it can get cold in here. Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

My bad thought I attached them when I posted earlier, probably did it wrong.
If there’s no image here I’ll have to try again from my computer later because I’ve been using my phone.

It seems dehydrated... Also you can keep inside if winter is too hard there, but it must take at least some light, close to a window maybe, I don't know about a porch on your winter...

Your first post indicates that you think stable conditions is a key for success. But really, it is quite the opposite. Trees have evolved in the nature. There are no place in nature with stable conditions.
Also, you seems to think it is too cold where it is today. Not likelly, you would not like to be there yourself if it too cold for your tree. The best way to get thrue the low levels of light in winter is to chill down the tree.
So unstable and cold with as much sun exposure as possible will take you thrue winter in the best way.
