Hey everyone,
Im very new to this hobby and my wife bought me this plant at the local nursery for christmas. I believe this is a japense juniper, not 100%. its pretty sure its planted in a dirt substrate mix opposed to a bonsai substrate. it also has moss on the base. I want to replant it and clean it up but Ive read these trees dont do well
indoors and i dont want to do anything that could be traumatic. I live in ohio and its below freezing outside. the nursery was heated and i dont want to do anything that might set it off. its by a window with good light and I have a led grow light. my questions are.... what type of juniper is it? can i repot it now or should I wait till spring? can I keep it inside year round or should I start keping it outside after the spring (assuming going from warmth to cold now would be to traumatic)?... with the current substrate and moss im not sure of the watering im currently spraying it every few days, trying to find that happy medium. any help or suggestions would be great... thanks in advance...

If it makes it until spring then yes, put it outdoors and leave it there. Slow animation to full sun position is beneficial.
I would not repot first spring on a tree that hasent experienced a proper dormancy. Better wait until next spring.
If you have the posibility, put it somewhere just above freezing temperatures. That will increase chanse of surviving the winter a lot.
