This spring the edges of my Trident Maples leaves have turned brown and dry and have fallen. I suspect root rot since the soil has not become dry between waterings as usual. Even though it is late spring should I repot or is there another technique to deal with this problem?

Check the pot.

I had root rot appear out of nowhere in an elm forest. The bottom of the pot was not flat, and the drainage holes were at the high points, allowing a pretty large area to collect water. It had been raining every day and the roots had been soaking.

Solution was obvious, drill some holes.
