I know absolutely nothing about bonsai trees, but I am hoping one of you can help by answering a few questions.
I bought this tree in a supermarket 15-18 years ago when I was a small kid and have done nothing except watering it, doing some simple pruning 1-2 times per year, and replanting to a bigger pot a few times.
- Do you know which species this tree is?
- Do you know how old this type of tree can get?
- Is it even considered a bonsai tree?
Thank you very much in advance!

The possible life span of a tree is mostly based on its ability to transfer water and nutrients from the ground to the very top while it grows. But also their ability to withstand a strong storm when it gets big.
Trees do not die from old age. None of the reasons for trees dieing in nature aplies to bonsai. Well cared for they can live forever.
