Does anyone know what kind of tree this is? My husband and I went tree collecting last summer and I was all about the small trees, and he was all about finding the big ones and chopping their tops off. Turns out his trees are mostly way cooler than my trees now. I just repotted this one today and I want to know what kind it is. There are a lot of them around here and we have a couple in training.
I included a picture of the loopy tree, too, that's his favorite. It's in a different pot now and we're trying to get the roots to grow around a flat rock. I think it's the same type of tree as the other one.
Thank you,
Valerie

sorry i haven't a clue. I thought the first one might have been a willow, but it's definitely not if its the same type of tree as the others. You have a nice collection going
Thanks! Here's what it looks like right now. I think I'll be posting it in the progressions group when I'm able to do something with it. Right now I'm just letting it grow, I'm being nice to it because it got moved to a smaller pot (the green one in the pictures) and needs some time to recover. If anyone knows what type of tree it is let me know!

As soon as the leaves open I'll post a picture! I hope it's the Amur maple, they are an invasive species in NY so the DEC might not have a problem with me collecting them. . And I hear they make good bonsai. You can see the leaves in one of the beginning pictures. It definitely is a hardy tree!
