I got a chinese bonsai a few months ago. I have not repotted it. I live in central texas. I was watering my bonsai twice a day and leaving it indoors by a window. My tree developed white powdery spots on its lower trunk and roots. I moved it outside and started watering it every other day. It still has the white stuff and the soil looks really dried out. This is my first tree. What should I do?

welcome to the forum,
pics would help, but your juni should be outdoors at all times, inside it will inevitably die.seeing your soil is drying out so fast i do not beleive it is mold or anything dangerous. it is most likely mineral deposits from the water you are using.i am curious about what the soil makeup is it may need to be amended

Since you're in Texas , I would keep the tree in a place where it will get shade in the hottest part of the day.
