Hard to see; do you have a closeup of the leafs?

You can try this page as well:

I also think it might be a Jade tree (crassula). If you have a close-up photo, please post it as we get a better view on the leaves and branches! ;)

Firstly you should be shaping the branches using wire. Tape or whatever you're using not only looks bad but it doesnt give any real support. The wire allows you to bend the branch and hold it in place until it "sets"

You need some wire but not too much. I ordered from this company and was not disappointed:http://www.amazon.com/Bonsai-Trees-Tools-Training-Three/dp/B000MRFW68/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1339170171&sr=8-10

Wait, because if this is a jade tree, don't wire the branches, they will easily break, these succulents can't be wired! They need to be styled by cutting off branches on a place where you want other branches to grow. ;)

Youri is right.
If that were mine, I would chop off both branches....root them, and use all three separately. Those two branches look bad and they'd make great "trees". The trunk that would be left in the pot is pretty fat so that's another plus.
Who's with me? haha
