Help identifying cutting was created by myth

A friend gave me a cutting a few months ago and I didnt expect much of it to be honest, its was just basically a branch he had chopped and stuck into the soil. I tried wiring it but the bark is really soft and was showing signs of splitting the bark on the bend so I removed it, it kept a slight bend but thinking ill try again later and make looser. My trouble is that it started flowering the other day and I think ive got it identified but not 100%, I believe its a Fukien Tea tree. The leaves are shiny with small hairs on top and has and oval shape with sort of teeth at edges, anyways heres a pic for you to see and hopefully confirm. thanks.
