I bought this bonsai several years ago and I don't remember the specie.
I have some ideas but I would prefer to see if your comments match them and then share those with you.

I'd say a Ficus Retusa, a.k.a. Ficus microcarpa

Nice bonsai. I like the root structure. It brings real character to the specimen.

i agree with Gnarlwood, i don't really see a specific style but i would say the bonsai-on-a-rock style.
