Serissa is sick! :/ was created by aduateresa

Hi there!

I am a newbie on Bonsais... have a Serissa Foetida for 4 months and I can see it is very sensitive to changes... But now, it has indentations on its leaves...as in the picture. And it is yellowing some of the leaves out as well. Any ideas on how to treat it? I thank you in advance...:-)

what is the environment that you are keeping your tree in. it doesnt look to me like a pest or fungus is causing the issue.

I am keeping it indoors, in the kitchen counter, in front of the kitchen window. I have a fluorescent light that I started using a week ago, but this problem with the leaves indentation is older than that. I first bought the light because Serissa got no flowers and I though it was due to light deficiency. But I think the artificial light is causing the leaves to turn yellow faster! Change in ligh conditions and exposure? maybe.... :-)

The main problem is culture. You must get your conditions to suit the species. An artificial light unless you live in a country without daylight is a waste of time.
The plant will flower when it is ready. It needs sunshine and water when needed, not at set times. Moving the plant around will cause it to drop leaves, so don't move it. Serrisa is not the easiest to grow so don't be surprised if it does not survive

Thanks, guys. I will stop the artificial light and let Serissa decide what it wants to do...:-)
Would it benefit from being outside at this point?

yes as long as tempurature allows...above 90 and below 50 are the extremes. place it in a partial shade area for a couple weeks to become acustom to sunlight. older leaves may be effected but as long as there is new growth forming the new leaves will be more tolerant to sunshine.best of luck and keep us posted.
