When I bought this, the lady said it was indoor. During the summer I kept it outside and it got nice and full but it's beginning to dry out since I brought it inside. Please help!

i think that is a juniperus communis and should at all times be kept outdoors all year round.

Not only should this not be kept inside, it's also not a bonsai, just a young juniper.

Just to expand on auks true info if confused. Bonsai are not a species of tree in any way, they are just normal trees miniaturised in a pot but artistically styled in one or semi of the bonsai styles. What you have here is what we call "mallsai" which mixes the term mall and bonsai. You probably got this from a market or stall or a garden centre from an unofficial bonsai nursery or dealer. Mallsai are trees or shrubs planted in a pot. "whats the difference?" my friend asked, well most importantly, it has not been styled and does not have any artistic features. This is quite a shock and disapointement i know, but at least you vision on bonsai has been altered to the true vision of bonsai. You can still grow it and style it though but this is just a plant in a pot AT THE MOMENT. I have utter faith in the fact you will learn and apply these skills in good time. I think it would be a good idea to have a good read up on the basics pages on this website. But what would be better is if you join a bonsai club near you or any good nursery (bonsai) should offer courses of some sort. Walk before you run is the best advise i can give in starting your wonderful voyage. ;)

If you knew not of the true image of bonsai and thought the real image of bonsi was mallsai then you would be confused if someone said this is not bonsai would you not. You did not state why it is not bonsai, i would be confused (probably just me) so i would think that lines would need straightening. My post was sure better than just saying it is not bonsai as i gave an explanaition why it is not. Just expanding on your post.

You could have written that in your first post. I'm honestly just wondering, do you have to have to post a reply to every single topic you see? How does that work, is it irresistable?

I could have but it overlooked my eye as i deem it irrelevant to the care of the plant. When you posted (posting good info) i thought that if i were to empathise kerplunk1414 i would be confused so...

As to that next bit, i thought i could help for this topic and so i tried and still am oblivious as to is i did. I post onto topics which i think i can help on which coinsidently happens to be most. If you wish me to not comment further on any topic then please say then i may cause not any trouble ;)

Just curious, not really wanting to start a discussion again. I'll shut up now.
