G'day one and all, I found this in the garden yesterday. It must have been brought in by a bird as all the other plants around the area are pandanus and cycads, so it is a bit out of place.

From reading the forums I know that this is not a bonsai, it is a stick in a pot at this point in time

Pinus stickinpotus would be the latin name. Na just joking,no idea. But stick it in the ground for a while or it will be a stick for a long time.

No idea :D

Just if you want make this a bonsai, do put inteersting shapes in the tiny trunk now. Also, try to eep the top in check and let one or more side-branches grow out to be removed later. This will ensure you have lots of folaige to work with in the furture, with a nice trunkline & fat trunk base.

And yes.. You should find out which species it is. No club close-by?

I'll have a crack at the wire again, so would a " S" bendy shape work in the trunk Leatherback? I'll get the chainsaw out to take a bit off the top. There is a club here on the Sunshine Coast I've just gotta make the effort to get out and meet some of the crew.

Strangely enought I am finding this relaxing. I saw a post about bonsai last night and a character was wearing a shirt emblazoned with the following "I do bonsai to keep me from strangling people" I liked it

I like it too, seems reasonably enough. I do Bonsai for a few reasons and one of them is, for sure, to keep my mind in peace and to keep the outer worldly noise exactly there: "outdoors" ;)
