Spruce trees in the winter? was created by moondragon

Hi all!

I recently purchased a little spruce tree that was intended as a christmas decoration, it looks to be a few years old. I placed the tree in a rather large pot with potting soil, intending to let it grow bigger, as I don't really have a place in my yard to put it in the ground. I live in Ohio, and we've been having some extremely cold weather lately. The tree sits out on my padio.

I took the tree inside to water it, and was going to place it outside, but it seemed like the top of the soil had been frozen when I brought it in. I don't want the trees roots to freeze, it doesn't look too bad but it seems a bit brown on some of the needle ends.

Should i keep it outside or inside?

a little frost is not a problem. Keep outdoors.

Okay, thank you! :) We've been in the negatives over the past few days and I was just worried.
