Hello,

I live in Doha, Qatar and want to find a suitable seed to bonsai. I have read the book available on the site and see that a Ficus tree is the most versatile tree indoor tree and easy to grow, but I wondered how it would go in the Doha climate? During the summer is can get 40oc to 50oc+ and we have to have the aircondlting on all the time (I would have to make sure it is well humidified). The winter is very mild.

If anyone could advise what they think the best tree species would be for this climate and where you would buy the seeds, as well as any other advice. I'd be extremely grateful.

Don't go for seeds. If you drive to the beech neer Doha, you come through some hills with amazing trees for bonsai. Try to collect onf of those. MUCH better than trying to grow Ficus in your climate.
