Aloha everyone- I'm new to Texas and from what I've learned thus far this is a great place for an outdoor balcony bonsai ;) There's constant humidity and mild winters and so I'm very interested in a tree that I can train and prune and shape over the years. Currently house hunting so now I actually hope to have a balcony with some sunlight so it will be a great home for new tree. What are your best recommendations? Aesthetically I love the more traditional looking trees that don't just look like house plants with smaller leaves and gnarly trunks. Thanks in advance for any recommendations! B)

Hi Coki

Elms and Junipers, seem to be popular, and easy for beginners. They are easy to obtain, and aught to grow any where in Texas. Have fun.
