I got this plant at Whole Foods and all I remember the tag saying is "bonsai," so I would love help identifying it, but I'm not convinced it's even a bonsai since it didn't come in the correct pot or have a species ID on it :-/
Thank you to anyone who can help!

A bonsai can be in an 'incorrect' pot and without a species ID, but this definitely is not a bonsai.
It's just a common houseplant and it looks like a Schefflera.
This is schefflera arbicola, umbrella plant is a common name.
Bonsai simply means plant in a container.
Some folks train these plants for bonsai. Keep this plant relatively dry and bring in when temps drop below 50 F. Give it plenty of light. Outside, give it morning sum and afternoon shade.
