Hi guys
I just found this bonsai on the street and I was wondering if you could help me to identify it.
From what I've saw on this website I'd say it's a ligustrum but I'd rather be sure about that.
Can you tell me what you think ?

I've discovered under the pot that it come from ikea and after a quick search on their website it seems that it's a FICUS MICROCARPA GINSENG.
Just out of curiosity can someone tell me why the trunk as been cut right in the middle at some point ?
This is not a bonsai, it is a houseplant. Ikea doesn't sell bonsai.
It has been grown (by enormous numbers; it is a mass-product) to imitate a bonsai - hence the monstrous (and imho ugly) roots.
It has been cut to shorten it and to graft the branches.
The Ficus Ginseng tree has been a largely discussed topic within this forum. If you perform a quick search you´ll see why this not a Bonsai tree, why the enormous roots look like that and specially why it would never turn into a Bonsai...
Hey, but worry not. If you are serious about Bonsai you´ll discover soon enough that most of us started in the same place
