I have had this maple for 6 months now. I water daily and do everything that is said by vertans. but recently the tips of the leaves were turning brown then all the leaves dried up with a white spots on the leaves. I removed the dead leaves and there are two open cuts that I was able to see with all of the leaves removed. there was not cut paste applied by the person I bought it from. in the cut area I see black pits. could this be the reason why all the leaves dried up?

Depending on what country you are in autumn is upon us so the leaves will be getting ready to drop off. Having said that you should be watering when needed, and every day may be too muc depending on your weather conditions. Could be the opposite also. When a tree becomes dry it will start to lose leaves. Unless you are in the southern hemisphere and it is summer tehn I don't think it is a problem and the tree is slowing down for winter. The branches need sorting out, once the leaves are off you can see what needs to be done.

this does not look like winter. where do you keep the tree? looks pretty bad to me, with the bark also unhealthy color!

Roots don't look OK either. Looks like something that was janked out of the soil, the main roots cut off, and dumped into a pot.

I live in the desert of southern California with hardiness 9 zone. we have high winds here so I keep it in the shade in a little mini greenhouse. I keep the greenhouse door open so there is good airflow. it can get really hot here and I was worried the heat and ends would scorch it the tree got bad all of a sunken within like a 1 week span
