 I've had this a year and it was listed as a "bonsai honeysuckle" so I stupidly didn't ask which kind. It flowered wonderfully & profusely as you can probably see and I've now cut it back a bit . I thought it was maybe a "nitida" variety but leaves don't fit so looking for an ident if possible please.
Thanks. :cheer:

Hm.. Not sure which species of honeysuckly. But I do see you let this grow very long. If yuo want to create a dense canopy, you need to keep trimming your ohoneysuckly, and not let the individual branche s shoot out.

Thanks - I've since trimmed it back on one side but I believe for some trees to develop a strong trunk it's good to allow it one or two long branches to "pull up" the energy through the trunk to fatten it? Or is that only with certain species? This is only its 2nd year flowering so again wanted to let it have full flowers before pruning it back. But if it would be more sensible to prune it back more & sooner I'll happily comply :)

Oh, ok. I thought I read you bought a bonsai honeysuckle. But you just have ayojung plant? Yes, thenn just let it grow. Mind you, they are very slow to fatten up!

Yeh sorry - the seller had it listed as a bonsai but only in the sense that it could become one eventually. So now I'm trying to find out what variety of honeysuckle it is so I know better what way to work with it, B)
