I am in the process of setting up an area adjacent to my house as a nursery for young bonsai trees that are not yet ready for display and require optimum conditions. The area receives direct unfiltered sun for 50-60% of the day and i live in Australia which has quite a harsh sun. So can someone tell me would i be right in placing up shadecloth year round to protect the young trees or just in summer ? If so what grade shadecloth would be favourable less than 50% ?

I seen people use shade for the peak mid day hours on several Japanese bonsai documentaries 10:30 to 3pm, (even on big tress). in Indonesia I have an area where the nursery gets only sun after 2:30pm.
