Junipers ranches starting to turn brown. was created by Rmager

I am new to bonsai and have made my first bonsai from a juniper nursery plant. I trimmed it and shaped it , being careful to not take more from the roots than I took from the top. I potted it in bonsai soil and put it on our deck where it is sunny to partially shaded. It may have got a little too much water early on , but I am trying to do a better job at that.
Anyway, a few of the branches are staring to turn brown. Is this a sign of disasters to come.? Is there any thing I can do to help it along? Any opinions and suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks so much. -Ray

If branches start to go brown that is a bad omen. Did you hade the branches a lot (in other words: Could they have been damaged) ? Other wise it is probqbly related to your work on the roots. It is often better to not trim the top & the roots at the same time; Especially juniper have a tight link between growing tips on the plant and healthy roots. You cut the roots, you want to keep healthy growing tips.

I'm relatively new too and I just recently did my first shinpaku juniper thT j too got from a nursery
I do k ow a bit of plant knowledge but not an expert but I'd have to probably say it's a nutrient deficiency that or if you just wired it, pruned both roots and needles and have it in full sun it could be that, try getting some organic cake nutrients like discussed in the bonsai empire bonsai beginners course, or move it out of full sun. And no pruning re wiring or re potting for months if say 3 months tops
To let your tree rest.
This is my shinpaku I just did 3 days ago.
