Hi,

I received a bonsai tree a little while ago and I've been trying to look after it but don't think I'm doing a very good job. I decided to look it up online and I see there is so much more to bonsai trees than I first thought! I am not sure what kind of Bonsai tree I have so if you can help identify it so I can research how I should care for it. I have attached a couple of photos of it.

The issues I have been having is that quite a few of the leaves have been falling off and some of the new leaves are curling up.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Very true. Don't let it discourage you though.

That's a Chinese Elm. Guidelines for this tree can be found under the "Tree Species" link, top of the page.
It's a very tree very commonly used for bonsai, you will find many others with the same tree - and problems - using the Search function of this forum.
