Hello- I live in Los Angeles region of California. I received a kind birthday gift in the form of a Bonsai tree, a picture of which is attached hereto. I am not sure what species of plant this is, and i would like some advice on caring for this bonsai. I live on the second floor of an apartment complex; we get adequate sunlight most of the day. I don't really have a hose connection for watering, but i have spray bottles and other such implements. Ideally, I would like to keep this as an indoor plant, but I understand that this might not be possible. My only real goal is to keep the plant happy and healthy.
Any advice people can provide would be most appreciated. Thank you in advance for whatever time you give in providing the answer.

This is a juniper- they should never be inside- it will die if it is. If i received this plant, first thing id do is change the soil composition, and put it in a larger pot, and let it grow for a handful of years before starting work on it- this is not a bonsai tree, it is a young plant- bonsai earn their name from years of training. The best thing for this plant would be to keep it outside, water it regularly and read up on bonsai through the internet and books

Can't figure out the scale of the tree, but looking at the mass of needles and the branches you can start do some styling.
But first read a LOTT. And what style is achievable ,
