Hi, I really appreciate your answer.
I will do my very best to save my plant, whatever it is; and I am very grateful for your advice, details and honest assesment. (90-10 is pretty despairing still, but I will take my chances)
I am grateful you took the time to help as well, and I am grateful to Auk for taking the time and effort, even if I did feel he/she was treating me like I am stupid.
I can be brash as well, I just try very hard not to be until all other ways of communication are exhausted.
I will go shopping for some liquid fertilizer tomorrow!

By the way, I don't mind if it's not a bonsai, I just want to save it. But I treasure knowledge and I do want to learn, so I don't make the same mistake twice.
I only said "trolling" because you spent more characters spelling "dead" out to me than answering my question. It just felt like you were calling me an idiot, is all.
I still appreciate the time you took and I thank you for it.
Have a good one!

Maan!
I never seen so much devastated tree before, really. I don't know for how long it was not watered, but it looks like coming out of concentration camp (due all respect). Not only that, it is missing its whole top half, the Microcarpa, that is very specific for this -non- bonsai. You should be very cruel to do this to a living thing really. You may want to talk to your friend on his behavior, unless he has some awesome good reason to have left the plant this way.
Now, seriously. This poor creature has little chances to live, if it is not dead by now. This is one of the hardest parts of growing tree in pot / bonsai - you have to get used to see dead trees. And it is even more hurting when you and your actions are the cause of the dead. But its how it is. Many of us ended up with a dead tree, especially in the start, and all we got through, want or not. Telling you this so you don't feed hopes and be less shocked when the day comes. I really appreciate your situation and you have my fingers crossed, though. Follow the given advises and don't push too much on the tree. Miracles happens, time to time.
Now about the -bonsai- thing. Auk is pretty much right, and you will see that he is usually right, like 99.9% of the cases. What you should do now is do your own research on the matter and if you really like trees and bonsais, get your hands on it. Read, learn, discover, get trees to practice and move forward. You will see that Ficus Microcarpa Ginseng (the one on your picture) is quite popular, and its for a reason. Its very tough one and very hard to kill, easy to handle and a good starter for any beginner grower. Its best tree when you start from zero and will be excellent one to train how to keep a tree alive. And yes, its not a bonsai, you will understand that after time, once you start studying the subject. I personally have few of them just for that - learn the trees and teach myself how to properly handle. Ill keep with it before I get my next level tree, one that will be ready to be turned into bonsai.
Keep on and good luck.
