Hello Everyone,

I'm new to the forum and really hoping for some help and advice. We're new to the world of bonsai care and recently purchased (February) a Chinese Elm. To start it seemed to be doing really well, however recently we've seen a dive in its condition and everyday several leaves are falling off.
At first we thought it was because we had been putting it outside for small period of times during the day so we've brought it back inside and have it under a UV light pretty much all day and night.
It lives in the kitchen window as this is the room with the most light - not sure if this is good location?
We've been checking the soil with a stick for watering and it doesn't appear to be under/over watered just doing it as we've read when necessary. We've also been ferterlising it every couple of weeks.
We've checked the leaves for pests and can see no sign of ANYTHING. We really are running out of different things to try.
If anyone could help save out little bonsai we would welcome any further advice!

Trees should be outdoors when the weather allows. As aplant do not like a change in location you should move tjem out, and leave them out. So that may be the cause.

Then, plants need day and night, so you should not have the light on day and night.

If no frost is expected anymore, just put the tree outside.
