Well.. With summer running towards the end (WEather the last 2 weeks have been like mid-oktober) I am now thinking.. Maybe I should get my next project started.. I bought 100 Juniperus Chinensis seeds. They need 3 month stratification (Cold period) before germination. Maybe I should start preparing for winter and plant them.
Anybody here any experience with sowing juniperus?
I do agree that there is a strong link between alcohol and Juniperus. However, one should not take the seeds, but the berries. It is well known that the berries of Juniperus should be placed in highly concentrated alcohol, to make good bonsai -it kind-a relaxes the mind:

All joking aside J, you are taking on an exciting project here that requires an incredible amount of patience and dicipline. I wish you all the best with this and look forward to seeing future posts on your process and progress.
I had the same initial question and would like to thank you for your answers they're really helpful! I'm new to the whole bonsai hobby and have only just registered for this site!
Seems like you all have a good sense of humour which I suppose comes in handy! Here's hoping for a long, patient but successful bonsai experience!
The site is only 8 months in the making and things have been really taking off here recently. There is lots of valuable information listed under the Main Menu as well as asking for help here on the forum.
Why don't you drop into the "Bonsai Cafe" section of the forum under the topic "Introduce Yourself" and share a little about yourself.
A sense of humour makes life so much more interesting, don't you think?
