Hey guys,

I'm in need of identifying a pest I couldn't find any information on. While pruning my Chinese elm I noticed several of these little insects in various parts of the canopy. Attached are photos of one of the insects in question and the white residue they've left behind. It appears as if they have a cotton-like, fibrous substance protruding from their rears. Any information would help. Thanks!

Flatormenis proxima

That is a planthopper, indeed, but one of the 12.500... I am quite sure it is not this specific one.
