Hello everyone, can anyone offer some advice on whats going on with my tree? The tree seems to be doing really well but I could be over watering it. I have no idea what type of tree this is, how much to water or if I can even keep it inside. The tree is in my kitchen with a plant light above it for 10 hours. It gets about 1 cup of water every day. The water can drain into a pan. I am grateful for any input.

I guess over watering. Remove these useless pebbles on top of soil. If you keep this tree inside your house it will not survive long. Take it outdoor and water properly.

It's a juniper , overwatered with hard tap water, with pebbles doing nothing to help and...
It's going to die if kept indoors .

So its outside now. I ordered Spectracide Immunox Multi-Purpose Fungicide Spray Concentrate For Gardens (HG-51000) (16 fl oz) and plan to use according to directions. Is there anything else I should do to prevent further growth or contamination? It gets kinda cold here at night. It is in direct sunlight in Texas.

Hey Frank,

As everybody already said, you do own a Juniper tree and it is not going to survive indoors. A common mistake that some people do is to water the tree on a schedule. You should water the tree only when it needs that, according to its species.

Hopefully this link will help you to form some basic understanding

There is also no point in spraying chemicals on something that is not there. It looks reasonably healthy at the moment although that will not last long inside. get rid of the pebbles and check every day and water when needed. Once you know how to keep it alive you can move on to styling in a few years.
