My tree is a year old, I keep it my room. Over the past couple of months i noticed the white spots on the leaves. They look dry or dusty. What is the problem and what can I do to fix this? I also noticed my tree has less leaves than others I’ve seen. Any tips?

Hi, and welcome to the forum.
Please note this is a forum about a specific part of growing plant, namely, growing bonsai. And yes, Ikea or the other big box store where you bought this probably told you this is a bonsai. It is however, not. (www.growingbonsai.net/why-is-my-tree-not-a-bonsai/)

Look for care on ficus ginseng, or any othe ficus for that matter., They love sun, warmth, moisture and need fertilizer. Your plant may have a coat of dust and calcium (You probably spray the plant with water?).

i would not spray the tree with water it doesnt help in any way. simply watering the tree works.
tree looks good and even seems to have new growth. look up care guide for your ficus so you know how to properly care for it.
