There are two problems here.

One: This tree sat inside all winter. I had problems for a while with little black somethings appearing on the leaves, which then turned yellow and fell off. I sprayed it with safer soap and that finally stopped. Last week it got warm enough and I moved it outside. The little black somethings have reappeared. I have sprayed over and over and they are still there. I brush them off one day and two days later just as bad. I don't know what they are or what to do. It seems plain that they are some bug or other outside organism, but that may be wrong.

Two: My care guidelines said temperatures should be above 55F, and they were, lows 65, highs 85. A couple of nights ago the temperatures dropped to 49F, which should not have been bad, but now several of the leaves have this brown area in the middle. Will that go away?

Care guidelines say not to overwater, and I have been careful about that. I stick my finger in the dirt and if it feels moist, I don't water, even here where everything else dries out in a day.

\Is there a fertilizer problem here? I have never felt like fertilizing a sick plant, but at the moment I will take any advice. (Not only say thank you, I will also do it.)

I suspect spider mites you can even see a web of silk on your second picture, continue with the soap insecticide for at least 7-10 days, remove any significantly damaged leaves and do so carefully as you don't want to spread to other trees or to other parts of the same tree.

Will do. Should I soak just leaves or get the trunk? And dirt? Where do they lay eggs?

I did what the reference said, except the humidity tray. This is Alabama. Humidity is 74%. That's enough, even if it's pretty low.

The second picture had leaves with large brown areas. Is that spider mites, too? The jabocitaba right beside it has a lot of leaves with similar spots. Also, 50 feet away the azalea I dug up from the front yard last week the same. I sprayed both of them just to be sure.

This is the jaboticaba, and I think the brown areas are easier to see.

Possibly a water issue. I water most of the trees every morning and by evening most of them are dry. The guidelines say keep the soil moist and I think it is. I just moved it outdoors after all winter indoors and there might be some humidity shock. Inside it was usually 35-45%, outside it is 75-80% and the real summer is coming on when it will be 90% or more. I may start checking the soil deeper than the top.

Thanks for the advice.
