Evening all,

Just wondering if any can advise what this is?
I'm new to Bonsai,got my first in July last year, killed it by April this year (repotting).
Got a new on about 2 weeks ago and just introduciing it living outdoors (only bringing it in at night), watering it only when needed and haven't yet fed or pruned it yet (letting it get used to it's new home).
Found these red spots on LOADS of leaves tonight so asking for advice please.

Looks like damage of some form. Maybe mechanical (wind) or perhapss sun.

Why do you take it indoors overnight? Leave it where it is. Plans do not like being moved around.

I only bring it in as i don't know where it used to grow (in or out), thought that if I left it out all the time when it was used to being inside it would be detrimental?
Could it be red spider mites or black spot does anyone think?

I can't see much wrong with the leaves, but don't keep moving it. Not helping. They belong outside this species is hardy and will not cop well being inside.

Keep it outside all year round? Even through the UK winter? Is there a min temperature that I need to protect it from?
Doesn't the spots on the leaves look like anything to worry about? They're on the old and new leaves...

up to -5C is fine. If it gets colder than that protect it by e.g. placing it in a shed.
I have a 40 year old chinese elm in my garden, that I dug from my neighbours' garden last year. That withstood -20C planted in full ground. Bonsai need more protection. But -5 is typically accepted.

My Chinese Elms take all that the winter can give so we had -12C last winter. No problem at all. All of my trees are outside including Olives, Pomegranate and Mulberry.all of which we are led to believe are not fully hardy.

Have you had any of the spots on yours like in my pics before?

I really thought Mullberries were tropicals; they really enjoy the climate here, thrive like weeds!

From doing some more research I don't think that it is black spot (as there are no black spots only red).
Since the last advice, my tree has only lived outdoors.
I removed all the red spotted leaves and treated the tree with a "Bonsai Invigorator, Bug Killer and Fungicide" from Kaizen Bonsai online shop.
That was around a week ago, I now notice that the new leaves that are sprouting also have these red spots on them so think I need a proper fungicide, could it maybe be rust or something similar.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
