I hate to place them outside with sometimes 10 degree temperatures. I do have a sunroom
I could place them in, but does get pretty cold in there.
Mike

Are you planning to put it outside next year or winter? or is your plan to keep it always inside or in the sunroom.
Because the willow, needs a dormancy period. And by keeping it inside it won't go dormant. Its a recipe for disaster.
Don't think you want to put your tree out in -10 direcly, but i would place it in a colder storage. Like a basement or garage.
It does not need light when its dormant.

Hello Rorrow
Thanks for your help. I didn't realize that. These are my first Bonsai. I will make room in the garage on a camping table.
I assume that I would prune only in the Spring, but what about watering in the winter when the plants are dormant???
Appreciate it very much

Roots still grow around 7 Celcius, at that temp it will stay dormant. Water it a bit less as it uses less water while dormant, but keep the soil moist.
When spring comes, and freezing times are over, move it outside, morning sun only. after 2 weeks give it a sunny spot.
Don't bother with pruning now. Do it next winter when the tree is outside and just lost it leafs.

Put them in the sun room, and maybe put a clear plastic bag around them to hold humidity in.
