Hi all

I got my 15 years old ficus retusa on Monday. Travelled here in a box for 8 days from Italy. And today was the 3rd day I found these kind of worms on my office wall.

What are these and how can I get rid of them?
Will they harm my tree in any way?
Why are they’re on the wall and not in the soil?
maybe they came out from the box while I was unpackaging it or they're coming out from the soil every night? I can't see any at daytime.

The bonsai was repotted this spring so repotting would be the last option because the winter is almost here in my country.

The "worm" on the picture looks like a centipede. They are detrivourus. By the picture of the tree, I dont Think it came with the tree. Contact a lockl etomologist and ask if it is a local species.

Anyway, not a threat to your tree unless it is dying for Another reason.

Excuse me. The correct name in English is millipede. They have the same name in my language, hence the misstake.

Thank you for the answer. Why do you thing it didn't come with the tree? I work for 3 years in this office and never saw any of this on the walls but the day I've unboxed the tree I saw the first in 30 minutes. Until now I found 5. And never saw these anywhere indoor environment. that's why I believe it's came with the tree.

So the main question is how can I get rid of them because I'm planning to take the tree in my house but I can't do that until they are there, I don't want them on my room's wall.

I don't even understand why are they on the wall and not in the soil? Maybe because the tree haven't got water in the past 14 days and getting dryer so they can't get the mouisture they need?

Will they infect my other plants in my office?

They are detrivourus. With the mostly non organic soil it is not likelly they came with the tree. On the other hand they are not likelly to just pop up in a house. Quite a mystery to me. Anyway, they are no threat to a thriving plant, just to dead plants. I would not call it infestion and would not wory about moving the tree.
