Hi all! I inherited 4 beautiful trees about 6 months ago. I am new here, and to bonsais in general so any advice, tips, and tricks is appreciated.
Two of my trees have white worms (2 different types of worms), and I am having trouble identifying them.
Pictures are attached, the small white ones on the bark are very tiny, seem to (maybe?) be fungus gnats but I would like to know if anyone has had similar and what you suggest doing.
The other type of worm is about 1/4 inch long, and some have hard snail like shells - they seem to be nestling in soil.
One of the trees went through a tough few months with a bad case of spider mites and scale. I sprayed every other day for about 2 weeks with a horticulture oil (rinsed as well so they were both possibly over-watered for 2 weeks). Is it possible these worms are just a case of over watering and are no real harm to the tree? Or do these seem like pests I will need to eliminate before they get worse?
