Pleas help, I have had my bondsai for 6 months, Chinese elm 7 years old. It bloomed beautifully and strong, then it lost its leaves, and re bloomed now it has lost them but for a substantial amount of time and have not regrown. I have sliced the bark and it is still alive, and I keep watering it when it is dry. The trunk in the soil is very dry and pale than the rest, and the bugs are tiny little silver shiny crawling things, must be about 5 of them. I repotted the tree with new bondsai soil and still not re grown. Please see photo and look forward to any help thank you in advance!

hard to tell anything from a picture which is upsidedown and only shows a piece of trunk.
I would guess it is dead.

There was a problem with the tree itself obviously! replace it or bring it back to where you purchased.
