Hi all,

Assuming this is not normal? This is a ligustrum sinesis, lots of fresh green growth in the canopy but some of the older leaves have brown patches or spots on them. Sat in a south facing window with
Lots of light in a cool room. Watering when needed (using a moisture meter) and misting too.

Is this cercospora? Should I be looking at getting some anti fungal?

Thanks!

Oh, my ligustrum has had a couple of singular black/brown spots on old l3aves. However, it has not had patchy brown ones spread across the leaves like above. Treatment might be required.

I thought so, I’ve pruned away the leaves with the most obvious brown spots and I’m going to monitor it for a few days. I’ve got some Scott’s Fungus ultra clear spray but it says only use between April and Sept so I’m holding off on using it......if anyone has experience with the specific problem in the pictures I’d appreciate more advice. Thanks!

Unless you keep this in a very wet position I doubt it is fungal. Could just be old age, indoor conditions etc.

I do not see any reason for concern. Then again, I typicaly try to grow without poision etc where possible.

Yes I’d rather not use the anti fungal if possible, the window does get quite a bit of condensation at this time of year so It might be a bit damp there. I’m waiting to see if the spots start appearing on new growth before spraying.
