Chinese Lingustrum is looking bad

Hey guys,

My 1 year old Privet has been starting to look bad in the last 2 months.
At first the tips of some leaves have started to turn brown.
Also some leaves are turning yellowish.
And the worst thing is the soil and some roots have some white stuff on them.
I already tried to brush of the white stuff but i came back shortly after.
Is that some kind of Root Rot? I read something about it here

Some people already suggested that i put it in direct light but i tried it in the winter and a lot of leaves got hurt because of it. Thats why i got the plant lights
Im also not able to put it outside because i dont have a place outside :/

Im really woried but thankfull for any help

Well, it’s quite simple really, it needs to be outside. 99% of the help my tree is dying questions here are from people with so-called indoor trees. In the 6 years I’m here I have not seen one person come back to show how good their tree is doing inside, iow all these trees are dead. There is no such thing as an indoor tree. They need sunlight , humidity and seasons
So, outside with it or you will end up with a dead tree.

Lucr is most likelly right.

But to be honest it looks way better than my chinese privet that I keep outside in summer and frost ptotected in winter in sweden. I have grown it for 2 years. How long have you had yours?

i had for 1 year now exactly. It looked really good last year when i got it until like 2 months ago.
If putting it outside is the only option right now, i'll have to bring it to some friends until i move into a new appartment with a balcony

Anyways thanks for the advice
