Japanese Maple Help!! was created by MannySon

Hello Everyone!

I had a Japanese maple dropped into my lap and it was in terrible condition! The bark seemed to be peeling off near the nebari and also looked blackish. I took it out of the pot and washed off the roots with water and notice there were still some roots that were alive and seemed to be healthy and I took a page out of Peter Chan book and placed it in a nursery pot full of sphagnum moss. I've been online researching trying to narrow it down but it had been difficult. I did come across hydrogen peroxide rinse to help fight of bacterias and fungus. any advice is this method safe?

Hydrogen peroxide can go terribly wrong If performed in the wrong way.

It makes no different on what organics it oxidizes. Just not as effecient on living organics as dead. The streangth of the solution as well as the total amount of peroxide is important for success. I would not dare to experiment with it on a tree in 100% organic soil as sphagnum moss.
